The project «BIC70 - Behind Iron Curtains» was funded with the support of the European Union under the Programme "Europe for Citizens"

5 events have been carried out within this project:

Event 1
Participation: The event involved  61  citizens, including 60 participants from the city of Budapest (Hungary), 1 participant from the city of Lodz (Poland).
Location / Dates: The event took place in Szent László Gimázium (Budapest, Hungary), from  04/12/2015  to 18/12/2015
Short description:  The aim of the event was an intercultural audiovisual workshop.

Event 2
Participation: The event involved 47 citizens, including 46 participants from the city of Prague (Czech Republic), 1 participant from the city of Bucharest (Romania).
Location / Dates: The event took place in Cesky rozhlas (Prague, Czech Republic), from 25/01/2016  to 08/02/2016
Short description:  The aim of the event was an intercultural audiovisual workshop.

Event 3
Participation: The event involved 57 citizens, including 56 participants from the city of Lodz (Poland), 1 participant from the city of Prague (Czech Republic).
Location / Dates: The event took place in Spoleczna Akademia Nauk (Lodz, Poland), from 07/03/2016 to 21/03/2016
Short description:  The aim of the event was an intercultural audiovisual workshop.

Event 4
Participation: The event involved 50 citizens, including 48 participants from the city of Bucharest (Romania), 2 participants from the city of Budapest (Hungary).
Location / Dates: The event took place in the Romanian Academy (Bucharest, Romania), from 10/05/2016 to 24/05/2016.
Short description:  The aim of the event was an intercultural audiovisual workshop.

Event 5
Participation: The event involved 471 citizens, including 441 participants from the city of Budapest (Hungary), 5 participants from the city of Lodz (Poland), 23 participants from the city of Bucharest (Romania), 2 participants from the city of Prague (Czech Republic).
Location / Dates: The event took place in Puskin Mozi (Budapest, Hungary), from 14/10/2016 to 14/10/2016.
Short description: The aim of the event was an international conference and student film festival.

Conference in Barcelona

European Citizenship in Challenging Times – conference in Barcelona.

A big international conference had been held in Barcelona. It was organised by the European Comission in partnership with EUROM, Solidarity Foundation, and the University and Municipality of Barcelona, under the „Europe for Citizens”programme 2014-2020. This progrmme aimed to bring the European Union (EU) closer to citizens, to contribute to citizens’ understanding of the EU, its history and diversity, to foster European citizenship, to improve conditions for civic and democratic participation at Union level and to define common values and to create an effective dialogue about each other’s past. Our organisation, NEB Office, was invited to the conference, because we coordinate with some other institutions (Institute of Sociology - RO, Spoleczna Akademia Nauk – PL, Post Bellum –CZ) one of the projects related to the „Europe for Citizens”programme.

The first workshop of the project successfully took place in Budapest, Hungary in the Szt. László High School on the 4th of December, 2015.
Twice as many students took part on the workshop as expected before. The lectures taught by experienced speakers. They offered very good opportunities to inspire the future work of the students.
